From an electronics and telecommunications engineer who struggled to find a career path, Huynh Van Vu, 31, residing in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang, bravely changed direction to pursue a new path – the path of healthy living, slow living and living usefully for the community.

Vu is the founder of a proactive healthcare centre in Da Nang which not only helps many people improve their physical and mental health but also spreads a positive lifestyle and beautiful actions to the community.
After graduating from the electronics and telecommunications major at the University of Science and Technology – the University of Da Nang in 2017, Vu had many jobs such as opening an office cafeteria, and working in fashion, and mergers and acquisitions fields. However, all efforts did not seem to bring the expected results.
Struggling to find stability and joy in his work, he began to doubt the path he was on. One day, he faced health issues that turned his life upside down and diminished his spirit. After enduring many ineffective treatments through Western medicine, he chose to seek Oriental medicine as a last resort. To his surprise, this traditional approach helped him recover well. Inspired by his own experience, Huynh Van Vu decided to enroll in the Traditional Medicine Physician programme at the Da Nang Oriental Medicine Association for two years.
After completing the training course, he founded the Saha Casa Proactive Healthcare Centre located at 32 Tran Nguyen Han Street, Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District in 2024. His centre specialises in practicing therapies such as massage, herbal products and high-quality Oriental medicine therapy.
According to Vu, the key to maintain a healthy and happy life is balancing the four main pillars of health: physical health, mental health, emotional health, and spiritual health. On that basis, in addition to professional activities, the healthcare centre owned by Vu is also the place to host many volunteer activities for the community, and take care of people’s health.
Recently, Vu has coordinated with Son Tra Runner to organize the Hello 2025 race, attracting more than 200 runners. The race aims to promote the running movement, improve health in the community, and spread the spirit of sports and healthy lifestyle.
In addition, the man built a pickleball court at his centre, allowing 20 people to practice for free every day. He also opened a free Yoga class right at his centre, attracting many people to practice regularly.
In late March 2025, the Saha Casa Proactive Healthcare Centre worked with the Da Nang Oriental Medicine Association to offer a free medical checkups and medicine to 35 veterans in Son Tra District in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Accordingly, the veterans were supported by Vu and traditional medicine practitioners to measure blood pressure, take pulse, provide free medical examinations, and give oriental medicine and massage therapy to reduce bone and joint pain.
Vu also serves as a vital link in promoting the sale of products for the Co Tu people in the Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province. He organises highland markets in the centre and supports the Co Tu people in selling their agricultural products and medicinal herbs. Additionally, Vu has collaborated with the Toastmaster English Club to offer a free English class for 20 disadvantaged pupils in the city. In 2025, he plans to expand this initiative by helping 200 more disadvantaged pupils gain access to free English language education.
Vu said that he was born and raised in a family with difficult circumstances, so he soon realised the value of efforts and gratitude. His parents were manual labourers, and their precarious lives made his childhood associated with frugal meals and days of deprivation. However, it was in those circumstances that Vu learned how to share, how to live kindly, and especially he had the will to rise up.
Each job left him with a lesson, not only about skills but also about people, sympathy and understanding. “The more I interact, the more I see that society has too many people who need help. There are single elderly people, children who do not have the conditions to study, and sick people who live in silence, or do not know how to take care of their own health. I cannot change the whole world, but I can start with small actions to join hands to help the community improve their lives” he said.
And from that small action, Huynh Van Vu has done many meaningful things. His free classes, community engagement activities, and dedication to his therapy career are his way of giving back sincerely, persistently, and humanely.
