(CNN) – Some baby food has been recalled due to a possible health risk.
Initiative Foods has recalled a single lot of its “Tippy Toes” apple, pear and banana fruit puree due to elevated levels of patulin.
Patulin is a naturally occurring substance produced by molds that may grow in various fruits, including apples.
The FDA said long-term exposure to patulin can lead to several health issues, including nerve damage and immune suppression.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.
The baby food was distributed in stores in every state except Alaska.
It was sold in plastic tubs as a two-pack and has a best-by date of July 17, 2026.
Customers should either throw it away or return it to the store for a refund.
