The STEMM Scholars for Environmental Justice (SSEJ) Program is a unique opportunity for 11th- and 12th-grade students in Mobile County to explore STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) careers while actively working to tackle real-world environmental challenges. This summer program, hosted on the University of South Alabama’s campus, provides students with hands-on experience, mentorship, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on environmental justice.

Program Overview:

· Dates: June 9 – July 11, 2025

· Duration: 5 weeks

· Location: University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL

· Incentive: Student participants will receive a cash reward upon completion of the program.

The SSEJ Program offers students a comprehensive learning experience, including independent learning modules, field trips, and a final research project with guidance from University of South Alabama mentors. Students will also have the chance to participate in a graduation ceremony upon completion of the program.

How to Apply: Students interested in joining the SSEJ Program must be enrolled in one of the following
