Quickgreens, a new drive-thru and pickup restaurant in Saratoga Springs, opened on Jan. 20 with a mission to bring healthy and affordable meals to Utah and beyond.
The brand was created by Hagen Jensen and Dayton Elggren, two Utah natives who felt there was a need for a restaurant in the state that could provide quick yet nourishing meals. The menu offers salads, wraps, bowls, snacks and drinks with fresh ingredients, all at an affordable price.
“We know that eating healthy is difficult. It takes time, it’s expensive, and Quickgreens takes out a lot of the issues with that because it allows us to give people healthier and more affordable food quickly,” Jensen said.
For that reason, Jensen said none of their stores will ever be dine-in. Quickgreens is solely a drive-thru and pickup restaurant, so customers can get their meals quickly and be on their way.
The menu offers three bowl options and four salad or wrap flavors.
“If you’re really into the Asian palate, we have an Asian bowl and an Asian salad. If you’re more into the Chipotle or the Mexican flavors, we have that as well,” Jensen said.
Since the grand opening, customers have come back every day to try new items on the menu or order their favorites again.
“We just try and have something for everybody, and it’s working because people are loving it,” Jensen said.
Nathan Greenhalgh, the manager of the Saratoga Springs Quickgreens, said he recommends the combo. It includes an entree, gluten-free cheese bread and a 24-ounce protein lemonade for $12.99.
“These protein lemonades are no joke. They taste amazing for how much protein is in them, and those cheese breads are great too,” Greenhalgh said.
The protein lemonade is one of the menu items that truly makes Quickgreens stand out.
“No one in the food space anywhere we’ve seen is offering functional beverages, like where there’s protein in a lemonade. You can go get protein shakes, but not something like this at this price rate,” Jensen said.
The protein lemonade is made in partnership with the company Just Ingredients. Quickgreens blends Just Ingredients’ clear protein powder into its lemonades to create a drink that has 20 grams of protein and zero sugar.
The lemonade comes in two flavors: strawberry limeade and mango.
Quickgreens’ salad dressings are another menu item they take pride in. Jensen said they make all their dressings in-house, and each contains seven ingredients or fewer. They are also seed-oil free.
Customers can also find a healthier dessert option at Quickgreens. Anna Diaz, a Quickgreens employee, said the gluten-free s’mores and snickerdoodle cookies, which contain 6 grams of protein, are among her favorite menu items.
“They don’t even taste gluten-free. I’d say they beat Crumbl cookies,” Diaz said.
Saratoga Springs is currently the only Quickgreens location, but Jensen says they are planning to grow to other cities and states very soon and very quickly. They even have plans for a location in Provo.
“I know we’re not close to BYU right now, but we will be soon. We can’t wait to serve you and give you healthy, delicious, affordable food,” Jensen said.
Quickgreens is located at 389 E. Crossroads Blvd., Suite A, in Saratoga Springs.
