Men’s Basketball Welcomes Northeastern for Youth Day Presented by Healthy Living

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont will face off against Northeastern at home on Saturday afternoon. Action from Patrick Gym will tip off at 1 p.m. ET and it will be on ESPN+. Saturday’s game is Youth Day presented by Healthy Living. Children 12 and younger will be granted free admission upon arrival while tickets last. There will be lawn games, a bounce house, arts & crafts, and more at the MAC Court starting at 12pm. Postgame the Catamounts will be available for poster signings and autographs.
 

BROADCAST INFORMATION

The non-conference clash will broadcast live on ESPN+ with Rob Ryan and Bernie Cieplicki on the call. Fans can listen to the game for free on the Vermont Sports Network, from Learfield on The Game, which will air on 97.1 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 960 AM around the rest of the region. The radio broadcast is also available via the Varsity Network App with Brian McLaughlin on the call.

VERMONT OUTLOOK

  • The Catamounts are coming off a 78-55 win against Plattsburgh State on Wednesday night.
  • Gavin Perryman had a career-high 11 points with two three-pointers on Wednesday night.
  • Vermont had three players scoring double-digits in the win against Plattsburgh State. Noah Barnett (15), Shy Odom (12), Gavin Perryman (11), and Ileri Ayo-Faleye (11) contributed for the Catamounts.
  • Catamounts are ranked 72nd in blocks per game (4.5). Ileri Ayo-Faleye ranks 33rd in the country with 2 blocks per game.
  • Vermont ranks 52nd in the country in free throw percentage. The Catamounts have shot 76.2 percent from the free throw line this season. TJ Hurley ranks 10th in the country individually in free throw percentage. On the year, Hurley has shot 96.2 percent from the line.
  • The Catamounts average 14.6 fouls per game which ranks 32nd in the country.

 

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES

  • Vermont and Northeastern will meet for the 75th time in series history. Last year, the Catamounts defeated the Huskies 73-71 on the road.
  • Northeastern is 5-2 on the year. The Huskies’ most recent game was a loss to CSU Bakersfield 60-68 this past Sunday.
  • Northeastern ranks 48th in scoring defense this year. They have only allowed 64.3 points per game.
  • Junior guard Harold Woods leads Northeastern in scoring and rebounding. On the year, Woods has averaged 16.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
  • The Huskies were picked to finish 6th this year in the CAA Preseason Poll.
