Be active, be aware and be invested in your future.
ASSINBIOIA — A group of volunteer organizers aptly named “Healthy Living Assiniboia” have been working together for over a year to plan an upcoming expo based on the premise of aging well and aging smart.
This event is taking place at the Prince of Wales Centre in Assiniboia on March 21. The main purpose of the wellness expo is to emphasize that “Small town doesn’t mean limited healthcare and service options.” There are opportunities at your disposal if you know where to find them.
The goal is to improve the quality of life for those 50+. To be active, be aware and be invested in your future.
The committee is pleased to announce that Mary Walsh, well known for her role on CBC’s “This Hour has 22 Minutes” will be the keynote speaker. Walsh will be presenting how to get the absolute best out of your second chapter of life. Her presence will undoubtedly add an engaging and insightful element to the event.
In addition to the above, this health expo will incorporate booths and presentations on mental health, physical health, finances, estate planning and so much more. There are 25 breakout sessions slated (including Julianne Heagy on stroke recovery) and over 35 registered tables, which are sure to be informative and beneficial. Organizers also hope to have Age Well Saskatchewan attend.
This is the first time an event like this has occurred in the area. Healthy Living Assiniboia are hoping to attract residents from across southern Saskatchewan. Currently booked and/or pending confirmation are Naturopaths, alternative wellness methods, hearing, dental, pharmaceutical, lawyers, financial advisors, funeral homes, assisted living homes, travel, CAA, etc.
The Healthy Living committee reached out to valued professionals emphasizing how their skill set aligned perfectly with the goals of this expo. It will be an excellent opportunity to highlight services and connect with the attendees/fellow experts ensuring a well-rounded experience for all participants.

A committee spokesperson says, “Together, we will make this an unforgettable event”.
