International Society of Paediatric Oncology shared a post on LinkedIn:
“June is Survivorship Month and a powerful moment to promote healthy living after childhood cancer!
Survivors face unique long-term health risks but small choices can have a big impact.
That’s why the SIOP Survivorship Network and SIOP Tobacco Advocacy Task Force are joining voices to champion holistic, healthy lifestyles – including:
- Balanced nutrition
- Regular physical activity
- Mental wellbeing
- And clear, sustained tobacco avoidance
While smoking is often overlooked in survivorship care, its impact is real. Tobacco use increases the risk of late effects and can compound damage from prior treatments. The good news? It’s never too late to quit and doing so can improve outcomes at every stage of survivorship.
Let’s work together to build a future where survivors don’t just live longer but live healthier, fuller lives.
Explore resources on how to quit and spread the word.”
