Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Tiruchi, observed World Heart Day on Thursday by organising a cycle rally to spread the message of heart health and preventive cardiology in the city.
World Heart Day is celebrated worldwide to raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases, their prevention, and the importance of adopting heart-healthy lifestyles.
The event was aimed at highlighting the benefits of regular exercise and healthy living, and was flagged off at 6.30 a.m. from Apollo City Centre, Thillai Nagar, by Arun Nehru, Member of Parliament, and M. Anbazhagan, Mayor.
V. Jayaraman, unit head and associate vice-president, along with several senior consultants and doctors, participated.
Addressing the gathering, senior health officials emphasised the importance of regular exercise, a balanced diet, and preventive health screenings to reduce the rising burden of cardiovascular diseases.
