Trinity United Church invites the public to attend its fifth Healthy Living Session Oct. 1 from 2-4 p.m.
The focus of this informative session will be “all things food” with an emphasis on the importance of nutrition as part of healthy aging.
Paige Miller, Registered Dietitian with the Rural Frontenac Lennox and Addington Allied Health Team, will be on site to speak about the benefits of a healthy diet, how to cook for one, shop for one, the benefits of certain supplements, and more.
Heart to Home Meals for Seniors, as well as the VON Meals on Wheels Program will be available to answer questions about their meal delivery programs.
Chair yoga for seniors, led by Jeff Camaart, will also be available for a movement break, and healthy snacks will be provided.
Speaking to Sue Walden of Trinity United Church, she described what is hoped to be a “warm, welcoming, fun, informative, and valuable session.”
Healthy Living Sessions at Trinity have become a mainstay over the last few years, with well-received topics including Alzheimer’s care and the importance of staying active.
“As a church, we at Trinity United had a re-envisioning of our desires, and one conclusion we came to was that we wanted to reach out to the community,” said Walden.
She noted she hopes these sessions are “beneficial and informative” while also allowing people to experience the welcoming community at the church.
The upcoming session is wheelchair accessible and free to anyone who wishes to join. For more information, please visit: www.trinitynapanee.ca.
