With their snack company SprinkleBites, two Chester County mothers problem-solved picky eating by making protein-packed sprinkles.

Two Phoenixville mothers are making nutritious eating both fun and easy with their snack company SprinkleBites, writes Anne E. Hill for Main Line Today.

In 2024, founders Rachel Kane and Nicole Baros needed a way to help their picky eaters meet their nutritional needs without a hassle. Inspired by a Dutch snack from Baros’ childhood, the duo envisioned protein-packed sprinkles to make mealtime more nutritious and enjoyable.

The team then formally launched SprinkleBites, protein spinkles perfect for adding to toast, yogurt, pancakes, smoothies, and more. The sprinkles are gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, and free from artificial dyes for the perfect balanced treat.

Baros and Kane originally began recipe testing at home in Phoenixville before moving into a commissary once they secured their licensing. After originally hand filling orders themselves, production later moved to its current location in northern Pennsylvania.

Baros now lives in Chester Springs, and Kane in Schwenksville.

SprinkleBites sprinkles can be purchased in a ten-pack of individual packets or in 1-lb bags available through the company website and Amazon. Current flavors include berry sprinkles and chocolate sprinkles, with multi packs available.

The sprinkles are already a raging success, recently receiving national attention from Bon Appétit magazine.

While shoppers nationwide are certain to love the product, the local snack company still values their Chester County origins. About their journey so far, Kane said, “SprinkleBites was made for real families like the ones in our community, and it’s personal for us every step of the way.”
