Healthy Living: How to handle New Year’s resolutions
FORECAST TO GULF COAST WEATHER. >> JIM, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. LIKE AND THAT’S ALSO LIKENED THIS 2026. WERE OFF AND RUNNING RIGHT NOW, WHICH MEANS SO MANY OF US. >> I MEAN, WE’RE TRYING TO KEEP YOUR RESOLUTIONS. OUR GOALS OUT THERE, RIGHT? IT’S A TRADITION AS OLD AS TIME. BUT TODAY WE ANDORRA HERE, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, CLINICIAN AT LEE HEALTH. TALK ABOUT HOW DO WE GET? >> OUR RESOLUTIONS IN ORDER. HOW DO WE STAY ON THOSE IS SO IMPORTANT. THANKS FOR BEING WITH AND I REALLY LEARNED SHE ATE CASE. I MEAN, WE’RE 3 WEEKS INTO THE YEAR NOW. I’M SURE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE MADE THAT WHAT WHAT DO YOU KIND OF SEE WHEN PEOPLE MAKE THOSE RESOLUTIONS? ALWAYS STICK INTO THE THIS FAR INTO THE YEAR. >> WELL, MEANS TO TAKE US OUT THERE SHOW THAT SOME OF US ARE SOME OUR. SO THE BIGGEST THING TO REMEMBER WHEN WE COME TO RESOLUTIONS IS KEEPING IT REALISTIC, RIGHT? REZA LESIONS OFTEN ARE VERY FAKE. VERY, VERY BIG ON OUT THERE. AND THEY’RE ALMOST ON ACCOMPLISH ABUL BECAUSE WE KEEP ON THAT BIG. IT’S MORE IMPORTANT FOR US TO FOCUS ON. OKAY. HOW DO I TRANSITION THAT INTO GOAL SETTING? YEAH. TO MAKE MY LIFE WHAT I WANTED TO BE MORE REALISTIC, MORE HEALTHY AND REALLY FOCUSING ON KEY KEEPING IT THAT LEVEL, YOU KNOW, MAKING SURE A MANAGEABLE. I THINK SOME OF THOSE NUMBERS ARE LIKE 8% OF PEOPLE ACTUALLY STICKING TO THE RESOLUTION. PERCENT BY THE END OF THE CONTROLS OFF. THE THAT’S THAT’S A THAT’S A BIG DRAW WHEN WE’RE LOOKING AT SOME OF THESE GOALS RIGHT HERE. AND HOW DO WE MAY BE HOME THEM IN LIKE YOU’RE SAYING THAT WHAT WE ARE PART OF THAT. >> BIG NUMBER DROP OFF. THE BIGGEST THING IS REMEMBER TO GIVE YOURSELF GRACE AND FLEXIBILITY. YEAH, AS IF YOU DON’T MEET YOUR MARK THIS MONTH, YOU HAVE NEXT MONTH TO MEET IT. DON’T JUST STOP THIS MONTH BECAUSE YOU’RE YOU’RE, YOU KNOW, OKAY. DIDN’T MEET MY MARK AND THEN GIVING YOURSELF THAT MEASURABLE GOAL. OKAY. DIDN’T WORK THIS MONTH. HOW DO I MEASURE IT? MAKES FEEL FOR THE NEXT. WHAT CAN I DO? AND WE WE’VE TALKED WITH A COUPLE OTHER, YOU KNOW, EXPERTS LOCALLY HERE IN THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS, YOU KNOW ABOUT, YOU KNOW, FINDING WAYS TO MAYBE GET THE FAMILY INVOLVED IN AND DOING THAT KIND OF THING. WHAT WHERE DO PEOPLE FIND THE BIGGEST SUPPORT FOR BEING ABLE TO KEEP THESE RESOLUTIONS? WELL, OUTSIDE OF THEMSELVES YEAH, JUST HUGE ON FAMILY, FOR SURE. OR EVEN FRIENDS THAT WORKS OR ANY KIND OF SUPPORT YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE CHURCH IF YOU GO THERE, YOU KNOW, COMMUNITY, IF YOU HAVE A COMMUNITY, IF YOU’RE COLLEGE, FIND YOUR COLLEGE COMMUNITY PROFESSIONAL, DO THAT WITHIN YOUR OFFICE. ONE THING THAT YOU ALWAYS TEND HERE IS NEW YEAR. NEW ME, YOU KNOW, THE EVER EVERYONE KIND OF WANTS REINVENT THEMSELVES WITH THE NEW YEAR. IS THAT SOMETHING THAT IS ATTAINABLE? IS IT AND IS IT OUT? SO WHERE’S THE REAL IS OF IN THAT? OKAY. LET’S GET RID OF THE NEW YEAR. NEW KNOW THAT JUST SET IT UP FOR A HUGE VAGUE AND YEAH, LIKE AN MEASURABLE. SO LET’S REALLY DIVE INTO FOCUSING ON KEEPING IT THAT INCREMENTAL. IF YOU HAVE THOSE SETBACKS, DON’T BE OVER CREDIT. CRITICAL. YOU KNOW? YEAH, MAKE SURE YOU’RE FOCUSING ON WHAT DO I DO NEXT? DO I KEEP IT GOING? I THINK THAT’S REALLY HARD IS NOT BEING SUPER CRITICAL YOURSELF. WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO MAYBE REINVENTS KIND OF WHO YOU BUT GIVE YOURSELF THAT GRACE ACKNOWLEDGE THE SMALL WIND SAIL TO MEET YOUR MARK LAST MONTH. LET’S DO OKAY. AND THAT 10% OR 5%. LET’S KEEP THAT GOING. GIVE YOURSELF THAT KSAT, LET LET’S BE REALISTIC WITH SOME OF THESE THINGS. AND I KNOW YOU WITH WHAT WE WERE TALKING JUST A MOMENT AGO. SOME OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES, A LITTLE MORE SPECIFIC. HOW DO WE GET SPECIFIC WITH THAT? WE DO HAVE MAYBE A PARTICULAR HABIT THAT WE’RE TRYING TO BREAK AT, HOW CAN WE MAYBE SET A GOAL FOR WEANING OFF BITING OUR IT’S A BIG ONE FOR ME. WELL, IT’S MAKING IT MEASURABLE AND ACHIEVABLE. SO IF YOU WANT TO HAVE IT BY THE END OF THE YEAR, DO IT BY MONTH AT I’M GOING YOU KNOW, DO 5 DAYS A WEEK WITHOUT FIGHTING MINE OUT. OH, YEAH. I’M GONNA DO YOU KNOW, THIS ENTIRE MONTH. I’M GOING TO SET UP AND GO. I’M GOING TO DO THE SMALL THINGS THAT WE NEED TO THAT. KEEP IT NASHVILLE, KEEP IT FLEXIBLE. DON’T OVER. CRITICIZE YOURSELF. JUST BECAUSE YOU DIDN’T MAKE THE USE. THOSE AS LEARNING MOMENT USED THOSE AS MOTIVATION TO MOVE FORWARD. AND, YOU KNOW, DON’T LOOK OUT ON THE SET BACKS. WELL, I ABOUT 30 MINUTES INTO IT RUINED MY NAILS HERE OF AND WHERE CAN WE FIND MORE INFORMATION IF WE WANT MAYBE HELP FROM YOU? MAYBE FIND ANOTHER PROFESSION ARE ABSOLUTELY THE WAY TO GO.
